The impact of video is only continuing to grow. It’s time for you to grow with it! Here are three tips for how to use video in your marketing campaigns.
1. Diverse Content
Video is supposed to be fun and exciting. As you start making videos, don’t do the same content every time. Mix it up. Have fun with it.
Although you want to focus on a mortgage or real estate in your videos, you can mix it up with topics that are a little different. Here are some topic ideas you can run with.
- Industry Trends. Spend some time talking about the top kitchen trends for this year. Or maybe share what you’re finding to be the best flooring. Whether you show off a “trendy” home during this video, or just talk about it, you can have fun with a topic like this!
- Market Report. Talk about housing marketing in a certain area. Talk about the number of sales and average prices. People like staying up-to-date on this kind of information. You can be that information source that they turn to.
- Home Tours. Take your viewers on a virtual tour of a home. Go home yourself and walk around, videoing the property. Talk your viewers through the home, just as you would during a physical tour.
- Top Mortgage or Home Buying/Selling Tips for Home Buyers/Sellers. Talk to your viewers about tips buyers and sellers should know when they enter the market. Share relevant and valuable information that your viewers can profit from.
These are just a few ideas for how you can use video for marketing. Again, just have fun with it!

2. Be Candid
I can’t stress this point enough. When it comes to gaining web or social media leads, people have to trust you! As I mentioned before, they want to use someone that they know or that their friends know.
As they watch your videos and follow you on social media, they can get to know you in a different way. If they see that you know what you’re talking about and that you have a fun personality, they will slowly start to trust you. When you use video for marketing, people can better get to know you, so when it comes time for them to buy/sell a home, they’ll remember you.
When making these videos, act like you’re talking to them in person! I know it may be difficult at first, but it’s something you’ll get used to. Maybe have a friend, a business partner or your significant other sit behind the camera as you film. Just talk to them!
3. Be Consistent
And most important of all, BE CONSISTENT!
According to Jeff Olson, author of the book “The Slight Edge,” consistency is vital. He said, “Consistently repeated daily actions + time = unconquerable results.”
If you want to be successful at anything, you must do it consistently. The same goes for your videos. If you want video marketing to work for you, you must be CONSISTENT!
